I'm Julia, and five years ago, I was living the very contradiction you might be experiencing now. As a sustainability consultant working with multinational corporations, I had a well-paid, high-impact career helping organizations create positive environmental change. On paper, my life looked exactly like what I thought I wanted.
But behind the scenes, I was trapped in constant mental noise, emotionally numb, and profoundly uncertain of my next step.
I was navigating a corporate career that felt increasingly misaligned while battling mental and chronic health issues, including persistent bladder infections, digestive problems, and the kind of exhaustion that sleep wouldn’t fix. These often left me bedridden and unable to enjoy my life, ultimately culminating in a one-week hospitalization due to a severe kidney infection. Despite receiving treatment for the infection, medically, no root cause for the persistent exhaustion and recurring symptoms could be found, doctors simply attested that I was under chronic stress. My body and mind were sending clear signals…and finally, I was ready to listen. I tried all the common advice: I went to yoga, practiced mindfulness, and attempted to take time off, but none of it went deep enough to touch the root of the chronic exhaustion.
I felt burned out, not simply due to external workload, but because the chronic stress & my subconscious conditioning had left me empty and disconnected from my authentic strengths & purpose. Despite always loving to speak and write, I was paralyzed by imposter syndrome, unable to set healthy boundaries and afraid to show up authentically.
And yet, I had this quiet knowing…that there was something else out there for me.
Beyond the Facade: My Journey from Depletion to Authentic Purpose
The transformation that followed wasn't about pushing myself to become perfect; it was about learning to treat myself with compassion, patience, and care.
Through dedicated mind-body healing and nervous system regulation, I began to gently let go of years of stored chronic stress, which finally stabilized my persistent health issues. I leveraged Hypnotherapy and deeper somatic practices to dig into subconscious beliefs and rewire the chronic negative patterns that had been running my life. Slowly, I found the energy to take my first steps toward something new. I initially went to Paris for a few weeks, which quickly turned into a longer professional assignment. I began to feel alive again, met my wonderful partner, and started the professional training that led me to build a new career path focused on Inner Transformations.
But here's the most important truth I want you to know: I am not "fully healed" or always feeling limitless. I still experience fear, frustration, and anxiety about the state of our world. The difference now is that I no longer shame myself into performance. I treat my body as my partner, not my enemy. I give space for all my emotions, even the painful ones, and I have stopped limiting myself to who I thought I could be.
Today, I split my time between Berlin and Paris, doing work where my values and my personal purpose are in balance. But more than the external changes, I wake up each day feeling genuinely excited about my life. I’ve learned how to maintain my commitment to meaningful work without sacrificing my well-being, relationships, or sense of self, achieving a life and career that nurture me instead of depleting my life energy.
